"The hell kinda..?"

"What, did the damn thing need to reboot again? Swear, the data terminals are more reliable than that bucket of bolts."

"Not just that, it's...got a friend?"

"Our scouting robot with military AI made a friend?"

"It's this flying creature it's been keeping around. Looks like a normal bird, almost."

"Why didn't it just scan the thing and move on?"

"It already did, no possible threat of any kind, nothing to worry about. But there's some behavioral loops going on that make it keep the bird around."

"And we didn't test for this kind of thing before dropping it on the planet?"

"You know Command wanted it out the door ASAP, techs didn't have time to run a full diag."

"Great. So our scout decided to start making friends instead of DOING ITS GODDAMNED JOB."

"Progress is slow but it's still performing its tasks, in between the reboots at least."

"Guess we'll send it to the therapist if it ever makes it back onboard."
